Artist Gerard Delaney was born in Spring 1965 in the state of New Jersey, USA. His love of art developed in childhood, lead him through majoring in commercial art at East Brunswick Vocational High School, pursued marketing art and design at Middlesex County College, then finally made the jump to South Florida, where he attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and received his B.A. degree in Advertising Design. During his time there, he was one of several artists chosen to have their work as part of the aircraft carrier USS Leyte Gulf's permanent collection. 

After graduation, he worked as Art Director for E.R. Publishing, producing bilingual inflight magazines for several South American airlines. Then as designer and artist for the advertising agency AdImpact, designing album cover and prepaid phone card artwork, and won an Addy award for Best Use of Color in the phone card category. Continuing this design path, he was sole designer for Star Talk, a prepaid phone service company. From there his carrer path transformed into the web design space, where he moved into the financial servics industry initially with the mortgage division of international bank ABN AmRo, and currently at VentureTech Solutions, focusing on the financial services industry supporting such companies as the non-profit leader Consolidated Credit. Each carreer shift has alliwed him to continuously stay involved with art and design. 

His love of art and the art community has had him involved with various arts groups over the years, and has been heavily involved in various capacities with the Broward Art Guild since 2002, and has served as Executive Director for the past 11 years. 

As a graduate of the inaugural presentation of the Broward County Cultural Division's "Artist as Entrpreneur Institute," he applied the skills he has learned to his role at the Broward Art Guild as well as himself, professionally. He has entered many competitions, and won dozens of awards for his various works since relocating to South Florida. In addition to exhibiting with Broward Art Guild, he also has participated with ArtsUnited and participated in other open call competitions in the region, and is still active today.
